Theater Excursion: Toni Stone, By Lydia R. Diamond
Wednesday, July 31, 2019, 7:30pm (6:45pm Tour of Roundabout’s Education Studio, Black Box Theatre, and TONI STONE Upstage Guide overview)

Saturday, August 3, 2019, 7:30pm (6:00pm TONI STONE Theatre Talk and Upstage Guide presentation, with a feature on Roundabout Youth Ensemble)

$40

Toni Stone is an encyclopedia of baseball stats. She’s got a great arm. And she doesn’t understand why she can't play with the boys. Lydia Diamond's new play knocks it out of the park with an intensely theatrical glimpse into the world of the first woman to go pro in the Negro Leagues. Obie Award winner April Matthis leads a bullpen of players crossing age, race and gender in this vibrant look at how we stay in the game and play our own way.  Toni Stone is based on the book Curveball, The Remarkable Story of Toni Stone by Martha Ackmann.

Join us at 6pm for a Theatre Talk led by a Roundabout teaching artist, and the show will begin at 7:30pm!

Theater Excursion: Come From Away (and after-show Talk Back) [Sold Out]

Broadway’s COME FROM AWAY is a Best Musical winner all across North America!

This New York Times Critics’ Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.

Don’t miss this breathtaking new musical written by Tony® nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and helmed by this year’s Tony-winning Best Director, Christopher Ashley. Newsweek cheers, “It takes you to a place you never want to leave!”

On 9/11, the world stopped.

On 9/12, their stories moved us all.

Excursion #3: Broadway Up Close Walking Tour

Sunday, August 4, 2019, 7:00pm-8:45pm

$30

Broadway Up Close gives you a "behind-the-scenes" look at Broadway theatre. All our guides are professional working actors and stage managers in addition to being licensed tour guides. Being a part of "show business", our guides can give you insider info and stories from current and past shows that have graced the Broadway arena. Theatre-goers have been flocking to "The Great White Way" for decades for one reason: to hear a story. And for an hour and forty-five minutes you'll hear those tales, from the flops and disasters to the successes and legends. Where else can you hear about the farm on the roof of the oldest theater still standing in Times Square or the haunted apartment above one of Broadway’s most unlucky theaters?

Excursion #4: New Amsterdam Theatre: Behind the Magic Tour

Monday, August 5, 2019, 5:30 pm- 6:30 pm

Located in the heart of Broadway, The New Amsterdam Behind-the-Magic Tour is an amazing experience for guests of all ages. Your group will discover the beautifully restored art and architecture of this landmark Broadway theatre built in 1903, once home to the legendary Ziegfeld Follies. Please note that this tour is not wheelchair-accessible.

The conference committee has compiled an A-To-Z guide of NYC hot-spot attractions you shouldn't miss so that you can design your own experiences while visiting the Big Apple! Click HERE to access that list
