Joey Schultz is the Director of Theatre for Learning with CUNY Creative Arts Team (CAT). At CAT, Joey works across New York City schools with young people of all ages, using playbuilding as a vehicle for creativity and change. He also directs for the CAT Youth Theatre, where he served as the Associate Director for 9 years. Joey co-founded, and served as Program Director of The Queer Youth Theater at The Door. Additional credits include Lincoln Center Education, Under the Radar Festival at The Public Theater; Two River Theater Company’s Summer Education Program; and Story Pirates. He graduated with a B.A. in Theatre from the Ohio State University, where he focused on devising original performance, and holds an MA in Applied Theatre from CUNY School of Professional Studies.
