AATE Mentorship Program

The goal of The American Alliance for Theatre & Education (AATE) Mentorship program is to provide mentors to AATE members. The Mentorship program is a year long cohort of mentees (emerging careers or career changers) and mentors (those who have been identified as having exceptional experience in the field). The mentor/mentee relationship focuses on five of the six core values for AATE: providing leadership, ensuring professionalism, promoting quality, creating community, and championing diversity.


Mentorship Program Goals

    • To provide 1-on-1 support within the AATE Community
    • Increase commitment and sense of connection
    • Provide support and develop relationships and networks 

Time Commitment

    • Mentors and mentees are asked to volunteer 2-4 hours per month to participate in this program

Two Program Options

    • Apply to be a part of our Leaders of Color Institute Mentor Program. Where students/early career Global Majority (GM) are matched with GM professionals who are established in the field. (It is not necessary to be an AATE Member.)

    • Apply to be a part of our AATE Member Mentor Program. Where students/early career can be matched with our Member professionals. (Mentors Need to be AATE Members.

Time Commitment

Mentors and mentees are asked to volunteer 2-4 hours per month to participate in this program.

Applications to participate as a mentee are due December 15, 2024.
