An interactive workshop created and facilitated by youth from Irreducible Grace Foundation, under the leadership of Jan Mandell, master theatre educator/director. Irreducible Grace Foundation works with youth, especially youth of color and youth who are aging out of foster care or state guardianship, to become highly successful adults.

Fostering Voice workshop is a theatrical introduction to the issues our vulnerable youth have and continue to face on their path to adulthood. The workshop uses theater methods to involve the participants and creates a safe space for conversation, questions, and action steps. Through this workshop you will learn:

  • Introduction to the health, wellness and healing from trauma
  • Biology of stress, identifying triggers, and the power of breath
  • The gift of resilience, steps to self-care and finding balance

Following the workshop, meet Alexis Truitt, Director of Operations from AATE along with AATE board members and find out about opportunities to get involved in the upcoming 2018 AATE National Conference in Minneapolis, August 1-5, 2018.  The Theme of AATE's conference is Rise Up: Arts and Activism. Alexis will discuss the call for proposals and answer any questions you may have.

The American Alliance for Theatre & Education serves and inspires a growing collective of theatre artists, educators, and scholars committed to transforming young people and communities through the theatre arts.

If you have any questions, please contact Alexis, AATE Managing Director at [email protected].
