Accessibility & Audience Participation with Fran Sillau (In The Theatre) @ Trike Theatre

Join Fran Sillau, Trike Theatre Artistic Director and Kennedy Center VSA Teaching Artist to explore Bear State of Mind and Ms. Mouse’s Birthday Party through the lens of Accessibility. Participants will use the shows as case studies and learn ways to create participatory experiences for all young people.

Kassie Misiewicz (Chief Education & Outreach Officer - Ovations+) and Chad Dike (Education Director - TheatreSquared) will lead participants through the creative development of a participatory visual art tour (on the grounds of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art). What if a “butterfly” lead a tour through the trail?

Interactive Theatre: Community Collaboration with Meg Greene @ Amazeum

Join TheatreSquared and the Scott Family Amazeum for a session that explores how a regional theatre and a children’s museum can collaborate to create interactive performance. We’ll share the behind the scenes look at the  process of co-creating Miss Mouse’s Birthday - focusing on how we infused the magic of interactive theatre performance with the hands-on pedagogy of STEAM education. This workshop will take place at Amazeum, where participants will get to explore various exhibits and use STEAM experiences to spark their creativity. In this workshop, you will participate in a site-specific devising experience, drawing inspiration from STEAM museum exhibits and interactive theatre strategies. On Sunday morning, we will share our performances with an intimate community audience.
