Incident Report
Racism, Discrimination, and Harassment

Anti-Racism/Racial Equity Statement: AATE believes that theatre and theatre education is stronger and enhanced because of the inclusion of the voices, perspectives, and experiences of people who have been left out. If you represent what is known as “diverse” we wholeheartedly want to theatrically imagine and educate with you. We long for more participation of artists, educators, and scholars who have been marginalized, oppressed or targeted because of race, socioeconomic class, color, national origin, religion, diverse perspectives, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, neurological or physical ability, veteran status, legal status, or education level.

Call to Community: In an effort to reduce harm, create accountability, and correct behavior, we encourage our community to report all incidents of racism, discrimination, and harassment. Each incident will be reviewed by AATE’s Committee for Anti-Racism, Anti-Oppression, Equity, and Justice, to ensure that appropriate actions are taken.

This document is a living document: AATE Leadership will develop and amend this document and processes to allow for growth and change within the organization and to address racism, discrimination, and harassment within AATE.
